Mexican Antitrust Commission Closes Probe of Railroads


MEXICO CITY—Mexico’s antitrust watchdog said Thursday that it has closed an investigation into a possible lack of competition in interconnection services among the country’s principal railroad operators. The country’s two largest rail operators, Grupo Mexico Transportes, or GMXT, and Kansas City Southern, had objected to a preliminary report on the matter from the Federal Economic Competition Commission’s investigative arm in September of 2016.
