Transport for Greater Manchester say the changes have been brought in to 'ensure we are able to operate services as scheduled'. "For the Manchester City v Leicester City match at the Etihad Stadium (3pm kick-off) additional services will operate to provide extra capacity for match goers. "Between 1pm and 7pm, frequent trams will operate between the city centre and Etihad Campus and between Ashton-under-Lyne and Etihad Campus.
