NewsMeters with the capability to issue a printed bill to passengers will be compulsory for three-wheelers from today (20), the National Council for Road Safety (NCRS) stated. Accordingly, three-wheelers must issue printed bills to passengers indicating the distance traveled, fare and taxi details. A six month grace period earlier given for three-wheeler drivers to install the meters has now elapsed. Three-wheeler drivers' unions however, have condemned the move and insist that they would not abide by it.
