Photo: Getty ImagesMetallica's highly anticipated October/November tour has been cancelled following the announcement that lead singer James Hetfield has checked into a recovery programme to deal with ongoing addiction issues. "As most of you probably know, our brother James has been struggling with addiction on and off for many years. We appreciate your understanding and support for James and, as always, thank you for being a part of our Metallica family." Concert organisers Live Nation are reportedly working with the band to secure a new tour period for New Zealand and Australia, where shows are also cancelled until further notice.
