The Met Office warned that some homes may become flooded and transport links could face disruptions. Also, the incoming inclement weather could affect satellite television reception in areas affected by heavy rain and high winds. Met Office Operational Meteorologist Dan Stroud said Saturday and Sunday will bring 'persistent and at times heavy rain likely to move northeast across the UK'. According to the Met Office, later today, areas in the north west could see hail and thunder while coastal areas could be hit with gales. Tomorrow, the heavy rain is expected to move north eastwards across England and Wales with further heavy showers across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
