KUALA LUMPUR: The Meteorological Department is doing away with colour codes as weather alerts, said Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau (pic). The Science, Technology and Innovation Minister said this was because some Malaysians do not fully understand how the colour code works. "We are changing the colour warning as there are those who don't fully understand their significance. On whether climate change would result in higher monsoon rainfall, Tangau said that the country will experience rainfall. Several parties had slammed the Meteorological Department for issuing "late" flood warnings that affected Penang earlier this month.
