The national forecaster said that an Arctic airmass is set to bring temperatures as low as -4C this week, threatening to freeze already-saturated surfaces after days of rainfall. "There could still be some frost or ice tonight, but the rain will clear from the south and east tomorrow morning. Temperatures are going to fall "quite a lot" due to clear skies tomorrow night. There's going to be icy stretches, so particularly tomorrow night and into Saturday morning, it could lead to some very hazardous conditions for roads and underfoot." The night will turn frosty and icy, especially in the north and west, with temperatures dropping to -1 and 4C.
