Mesut Ozil made the switch to Arsenal from Real Madrid in 2013 in a deal reported to be worth £42million. The German has since made 201 appearances for the club, racking up 39 goals and 71 assists. He has won three FA Cup trophies with the Gunners and is also a World Cup winner with Germany, but controversially retired from the national side this summer after claiming he felt like a ‘scapegoat’ following their poor displays in Russia. Ozil is regarded as one the top playmakers in world football and was tipped to leave Arsenal in January but decided to stay and sign a new three-and-a-half year deal.
