Mumbai, Feb. 28: The agreement between NTT DoCoMo and Tata Sons announced today could speed up a merger between Tata Teleservices and the R-Com-Aircel combine, according to markets sources. This came even as the Anil D Ambani company had earlier said it was not in merger talks with Tata Teleservices. Shares of Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra), the listed entity of Tata Teleservices, soared 20 per cent on the news of a settlement between the Tatas and DoCoMo. There were reports earlier that Tata Teleservices and the R-Com-Aircel-MTS combine had entered into talks for a merger. "We wish to inform you that the company (R-Com) constantly evaluates various opportunities and engages in various discussions.
