Meremere family harm incident leads to pursuit, pair arrestedSIMON MAUDE / FAIRFAX NZ Police pursued the vehicle from Meremere to south Auckland. A family harm incident sparked an armed police callout that ended with two men arrested overnight. The incident began with an alleged domestic assault at a property in Meremere township on the eastern side of the Waikato Expressway. "The vehicle failed to stop for police, who followed it until it stopped at an address in Wiri, South Auckland, around 8:15pm." One person at the Meremere property was subsequently found to be injured and treated by ambulance staff.
