Mercedes’ new, innovative steering system has been banned from Formula One from the start of the 2021 season. But, Lewis Hamilton has been cleared to use the DAS system this season. Mercedes introduced their new steering system - the Dual-Axis Steering system, or ‘DAS’ - in pre-season testing. DAS allows the driver to alter the toe angle of the front wheels by using the steering wheel.
