CCTV footage captures brutal murderA mentally challenged college student was reportedly killed at drug rehabilitation center Somorpon in Kushtia's Mirpur upazila. There was an uproar after the CCTV footage of the student being tortured went viral on social media, Tuesday morning. According to Ejajul Azim Ripon, the deceased's father, doctors said Emon became mentally challenged due to lack of sleep and excessive mobile use. When asked why he admitted his son to a drug rehabilitation center even though he was mentally challenged, the victim's father said: "I don't comprehend how this happened." The deceased's mother Kamrunnahar charged that Emon was tortured to death as he was fine when they left him at the rehabilitation center.
