Many have sought out professional counselling, called mental health crisis lines and taken part in surveys about mental well-being throughout the pandemic. The website of Toronto’s Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Canada’s largest mental health and addictions teaching hospital, states there is more than one kind of loss related to the pandemic. People may also be experiencing loss of a job, loss of social connection, academic loss, loss of or harm to relationships, loss of rituals and routines, loss of mental health supports, and loss experienced by health care providers. What might be framed as the honeymoon effect of opening will only overshadow the long-term mental health effects of this pandemic for a while. https://whatsyourgrief.com/Modern Loss: Candid conversation about grief https://modernloss.com/Refuge in grief https://refugeingrief.com/Nova Scotia Mental Health and Addictions telephone access:Provincial Mental Health and Addictions Crisis Line: 1-888-429-8167Kids Help Phone: 1-800-668-6868 or Text CONNECT to 686868Mental Health and Addictions Intake: 1-855-922-1122Nova Scotia Mental Health and Addictions online tools available at: https://mha.nshealth.ca/en/toolsRead more about:
