Even when I didn't know much about John Boorman, I found him enormously interesting. The first time I saw him on TV on some talk show I hardly knew who he was, just some English movie maker. Yet he spoke so well about so many things in the film business, I could have listened to him all night. He was clearly a serious man, and yet he seemed incapable of being boring. While the multitudes were watching old films, no doubt including some of the films of John Boorman, the man himself was communing with Nature, or cocooning with it.
