Men arrested on suspicion of spying for Iran could be held for longer


They can now be held in custody until March 13, our sister title London Now reports. The men are accused of aiding the Iranian intelligence service by spying on locations and individuals linked to the Jewish community in the London area. A 52-year-old man, who was arrested at an address in Watford on Friday, can also now be detained for longer. Another six men have been bailed pending further investigation, after they were arrested at the same location in Harrow on suspicion of assisting an offender. The arrests are being led by by Counter Terrorism Policing London and are part of a long-running investigation.
