Important world events:1798 - The defeat of the Mamluk army led by Murad Bey in the Battle of Imbaba, during the French campaign against Egypt. 1960 - Egyptian television began broadcasting. 1969 - US astronaut Neil Armstrong reaches the surface of the moon, becoming the first person to reach it. 2019 - "Avengers: Endgame" breaks the record and becomes the highest-grossing movie in history, displacing “Avatar” after it topped the list for ten years.
