Important world events:1827 - The Kasbah incident occurred when the governor of Algeria, Dai Hussein, hits the French consul with a fan on his face. As a result, France occupied Algeria. 1945 - Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun marry; then commit suicide the following day. 1915 - The defeat of the Italians in the Battle of Al-Ghardabiya in Libya, the biggest defeat they have suffered since their invasion of Libya in October 1911.
