Over 100 flowers are being planted in a garden in front of Jamia Masjid Mosque in Hamilton. The kōwhai tree will be part of a memorial garden of over 100 donated flowers given by members of the public to the mosque after the Christchurch terror attacks. The mosque wants to commemorate the kindness the wider community has shown, Iqra Educare governing board chairperson Yasmin Khan said. MARK TAYLOR/STUFF The mosque is preserving donated flowers that are still alive. The cut flowers donated by the public that have since died have been composted and used in the soil for the garden.
