Members of the Plymouth American Legion Post 243 held a Memorial Day ceremony at the Old Plymouth Cemetery. Post 243 held brief ceremonies in six locations in the area on Monday morning. Memorial Day has been observed since 1868 in the United States. The Old Plymouth Cemetery is southwest of Plymouth. In May 2011, a monument marking the Old Plymouth Cemetery was erected by the Leigh F., Jane M. and Leigh M. Coffin Foundation.
