Trash and human feces buried in glaciers remain immersed in old snow and glacier ice for many years or even centuries. However, as temperatures are on the rise even near the poles, the glaciers on Mount Denali are melting at an accelerated rate. Glaciologists studying the glaciers of the region expect that the first human feces will melt out of the ice in the coming years. Human feces buried near the summit of Denali, in the accumulation zone of the glaciers, will need a bit longer. Based on models of glacier movements it may need 200 to 300 years until the last human feces will emerging at the base of the glaciers.
