The Melbourne Rebels plan to keep their sponsorship with Thai Airways despite a backlash following its announcement. The announcement was schedule for Tuesday as part of a string of new sponsorships and re-signings leading up to the opening round of Super Rugby next weekend. The Rebels had players and coaches from their Super Rugby and Super W sides attend and speak at the Super Rugby season launch in Sydney on Tuesday although the uproar about the sponsorship wasn't raised. The Rebels are not the only Australian sporting team with a Thai Airways deal.
