MELAKA: Police arrested seven people, including a woman, for bottling illicit liquor. He said police detained the seven aged between 22 and 39 at four separate locations here on Tuesday (April 30). The syndicate’s illicit operation was located at Taman Sri Krubong, Taman Seri Teknologi Cheng and Taman Cheng Perdana. A local liquor distributor who requested anonymity told The Star that the demand for fake booze had fuelled such illicit industry. He said the bottles are sold cheaper than the authenticate products and entertainment outlets would order a few cartons.
