The Spice Girls singer, 45, is mixed-race and was raised in a predominately white area of Leeds and was aware that other kids saw her as different. She recalled being chased home from school by them as they called her racial slurs, including "p***" and the n-word. "All of a sudden I was called all these names I didn't understand like 'P***', 'Redskin' and obviously the N-word. Mel was speaking out after the recent Black Lives Matter protests across the world. She wrote: "Black lives matter #blackouttuesday #georgefloyd."
