Private equity firm Mekong Capital has invested US$6.9 million in Wrap & Roll, a chain of 14 Vietnamese restaurants around the country and in Singapore, local media reported on Wednesday. With a capital of $112 million, the fourth fund of Mekong Capital targets businesses in sectors such as retail, consumer and hospitality. Founded in 2006, Wrap & Roll specializes in Vietnamese traditional food and is best known for spring rolls. It was the first investment of the company's Mekong Enterprise Fund III since its subscription was closed in May, news website Nhip Cau Dau Tu said. It is expected to operate in 10 years and make 10-12 investments, each worth $8-15 million, in the first three years of operation.
