Nas, Chuck D, Black Thought, Rapsody and YG all featured, adapting the words of the song to reflect the current turmoil. Megan Thee Stallion – whose hits include Savage and Hot Girl Summer – won best female hip-hop artist, one of the night’s earliest awards. Other winners included basketball superstar LeBron James and Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, who won sportsman and woman of the year respectively. Canadian superstar Drake leads the way in nominations with six, ahead of Megan Thee Stallion and Ricch with five.
