Hosted by the Hawke's Bay Sports Fishing Club, the annual four-day fishing competition was forced to shorten to a one-day event due to rough seas. "But the 20kg kingfish, which after the tournament formula is taken into consideration, was what won the $10,000. MegaFish Hawke's Bay entrant Linda Wheatley, of Napier, with an 11.4kg kingfish.
