The proposed merger of Telenor’s Asian operations with Axiata Group’s will give birth to the region’s largest telco by revenue. The proposed merger was announced on May 6 and should negotiations bear fruit, both parties expect to put ink to paper in about three months. But if need be, is there room for Telenor to do more in order to convince the local authorities that the merger is good for Malaysia?
