(File photo)The mother of the murder victim Poon Hiu-wing, cancelled the meeting with the suspect, Chan Tong-kai, as she said that the police officers failed to satisfy her demands. Poon's mother said the police did not reply to her on whether they would meet Taiwanese authorities to discuss Chan’s surrender, or if officers meeting her have the authority to make decisions on behalf of the police. The meeting was scheduled at 11:00am today but the mother called it off at the last minute, saying that she does not want the talk to become a show and waste of time. Last week, Poon's mother presented a letter addressed to Security Security John Lee Ka-chiu, urging him to provide evidence to Taiwan authorities instead of repeating the government's official stance that there is nothing they can do officially.
