But with many industries shut down altogether due to lockdown restrictions, people are having to look further afield to secure new employment and try on new challenges. People in my position have no back-up; there was nothing I could do but try to find a new job. People have a preconception about those who work in supermarkets, and there’s a stigma attached to this job. ‘Salary-wise, it’s decent – but still a significant drop from what I’m used to.
