As an Independent I don't believe in always being critical, you have to work within the system as it presents itself. If you have the ear of a Minister as an Independent TD, that can work to your advantage in getting things done at local level, and that's the type of Independent I would hope to be. The funding allocated to county Offaly so far has been less than adequate, and I do believe that the whole Just Transition process has been diluted across too many counties. Offaly has been the county most severely impacted by the move away from turf and fossil fuels and needs more support.
