You can choose between original Medicare and Medicare Advantage. Medicare Advantage is comprehensive coverage under which you receive original Medicare, coverage of most of the gaps in original Medicare, prescription drug coverage, and usually more. Original Medicare lets you choose your own doctors, and you don’t need approval to see a doctor or receive treatment. With Medicare supplement insurance, you don’t want to switch insurers and be subject to medical underwriting.
