Milad Rouf, 25, was arrested by detectives investigating the incident where the woman in her 20s was covered in a noxious substance as she left her house at 4.20pm on May 20. Police confirmed that Rouf, a medical student, was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and administering poison with intent to endanger life during the attack in Steine Gardens, Brighton, East Sussex. The attack happened on a small residential cul-de-sac opposite Brighton Magistrates Court on the evening of May 20. Neighbours living close by spoke of their shock over the suspected acid attack saying the victim must have been targeted as she was attacked after opening the door to her assailant. Detective Sergeant Jennifer Pietersen of Sussex Police said: 'The victim has suffered multiple serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.'
