Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU), Kent, U.K. is offering a one-year course leading to an MCh in Surgery. The programme also supports research in stem-cell technology, and students have access to a fully-equipped simulation suite for immersive practice. CCCU is currently one of six U.K. universities running the International Sponsorship Scheme for international medical graduates. As Dr. Shetty says, “This permits students who meet the General Medical Council (GMC) criteria to gain GMC registration as they study. “Having a GMC registration also provides eligibility to apply for a training job in the U.K. after completing the course,” adds Dr. Shetty.
