KOTA KINABALU: Eight medical assistants will be charged with making false claims amounting RM126, 757.24 on their overtime between January and May last year. The eight – seven men and a woman aged between 26 and 38 - will be charged under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act at the Special Corruption court here at 9am on Thursday. MACC director Datuk Sazali Salbi said all of them were arrested at their office between 10.20am and 10.35am on Wednesday. He said the suspects who work in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Ophthalmology Department are facing a total of 38 charges under the MACC Act. "Two of them are facing an additional 20 charges under a different section of the same Act," he added.
