KUALA LUMPUR (March 30): Media Chinese International Ltd (KL:MEDIAC) said it is selling 1.88 acres of land in Toronto, Canada, for C$9.9 million (RM28.65 million) after shutting down its media operations there. Initially, the property functioned as the office of the group’s Canadian media and travel operations. Only the travel operations remain housed at the building, with the majority of the office space having been left vacant after the group closed its media operations in February this year. The purchaser of the land is a company involved in the provision of ventilation products and counts a Chai Wah Hu as its sole director. According to the group, the company and the ultimate beneficial owners are independent third parties.
