PUBLIC TRUSTIn Kenya, as in most developing countries, medical errors are not routinely monitored, and as such go unnoticed. Medical errors not only cost life, cause injuries, and loss of money, but they also diminish the public’s trust in healthcare systems. Medical errors range from wrong medication or dosage to unnecessary blood transfusions or treatment. It is often easy to blame a person or group seen responsible for medical errors. Medical errors expose failures or gaps in hospital systems, and point to the solutions needed.
