Another confirmed case of measles in Taupō has Toi Te Ora Public Health urging people in the area to be vigilant for signs and symptoms of the virus. "Our team is working to identify people who may have been in contact with the person while infectious," said Dr Phil Shoemack, medical officer of health for Toi Te Ora Public Health on Wednesday in a press release. Toi Te Ora is advising that those younger than 50 years old and unvaccinated are at risk of developing the disease if they were at a series of locations during certain times. It can take from seven to 14 days after being in contact with a case of measles before symptoms start to develop.
