Top figures in America including Harvey Weinstein were hit by the #MeToo movement after several women accused them of sexual abuse and harassment. More often than not, victims of sexual abuse are blamed and shamed when they attempt to report the crime. This culture of accusing victims of abuse has festered an attitude of silence among victims of sexual abuse. Some males have also come out to tell their stories of sexual abuse which have been given an equal measure of attention.
