That’s how the first four games have gone between the Calgary Hitmen and Lethbridge Hurricanes in their first-round Western Hockey League playoff series. No problem, though, because Hitmen centre Riley Stotts was there to grab the puck, throwing a nifty no-look half-pass, half-shot in front of the net, sneaking through Tetachuk’s five-hole. The Hurricanes made the Hitmen pay when centre Logan Barlage fired home a one-time shot past McNaughton, tying the game heading into the third frame. The Hitmen goaltender stood on his head in the first minute and a half of the frame, making save after save on Grade A Hurricanes scoring chances. Right after the flurry of McNaughton saves, the Hitmen turned the tide, forcing a turnover at the Hurricanes blue line that led to a tic-tac-toe scoring play.
