Scott McLaughlin wins Sunday's Auckland SuperSprint to regain Supercars margin DAVID LONGANDREW CORNAGA/PHOTOSPORT Scott McLaughlin managed to hold off Jamie Whincup at the end of the race at Pukekohe Park Raceway. It was a clean start from all the leading drivers, with Whincup ahead followed by McLaughlin and van Gisbergen. Van Gisbergen came in soon after and was out in ninth spot, but had taken on more fuel. Whincup was all over McLaughlin as the Kiwi tried to stay ahead on cold tyres, but McLaughlin drove superbly to keep in front. With 20 laps to go, McLaughlin had a 1.5 second lead over Whincup and six laps later Craig Lowndes let van Gisbergen past him.
