A former chief of staff to ex-premier Dalton McGuinty spent only a quarter of his four-month jail sentence behind bars for wiping computer hard drives in the wake of a previous Liberal government’s gas-plants scandal. He spent the afternoon in basement cells at Old City Hall before being released on his own recognizance pending an appeal.
