As it turns out, though, signing with the Stampeders wasn’t just about returning to his hometown for McEwen. “That was definitely a big part of it, but there were numerous reasons,” McEwen said Saturday afternoon at McMahon Stadium. “I knew it was probably going to happen, but just to know for sure it’s happened is great.”In McEwen, the Stamps have likely found their starting centre for the 2020 season. He also adds to an already impressive stable of Canadian o-linemen that the Stamps will have at their disposal. There’s still work to do, and adding another veteran American receiver and finding a backup quarterback seem like priorities, but McEwen’s signing certainly gives the Stamps a headstart.
