THE CX-5, the crossover that kickstarted Mazda’s Skyactiv technology campaign when it was first introduced in 2012, has entered its secondgeneration era. Both 17-inch alloy wheels with 225/65 tyres, and 19-inch wheels with 225/55 tyres are available. Thai media were given an opportunity to drive the new CX-5 during the sneak preview event in Penang last week, and many were impressed. The suspension and steering is top-notch, providing plenty of directional control and grip in the temporary car-park test course. The CX-5 now feels like a luxury crossover with class that can compete against not only Japanese counterparts but also European ones.
