BJP’s one candidate for Rajya Sabha and one for Legislative Council won in recent elections, but its another candidate for Council and an Independent backed by it for Rajya Sabha failed to win. BJP MP from Kairana Hukum Singh has claimed that a large number of families, mostly Hindus, have left Kairana because of increasing crime in the area. “They were planning to sound the bugle for elections from Allahabad national executive after showing the victory of their candidates in Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections with the use of money power. Mayawati said the Samajwadi Party government of Uttar Pradesh was not in a position to show the truth behind the conspiracy “which could have led to serious riots”, as it is in connivance with the BJP. Mayawati said her government had ordered inquiries into “police recruitment scam” and many officers were investigated in it until the matter reached the court.
