Mr. Jogi was also declared the chief ministerial face of the coalition. Announcing this here on Thursday, BSP chief Mayawati said the alliance was formed after “much thought” to all aspects of governance. With Mr. Jogi seated beside her, Ms. Mayawati said he had a record of working for the poor. Ms. Mayawati announced that she would hold joint rallies with Mr. Jogi. Mr. Jogi was the first Chief Minister after Chhattisgarh was carved out of Madhya Pradesh.
