Photo: ReutersPrime Minister Theresa May has told European Union leaders she is confident a court ruling that may delay Britain's departure from the bloc will be overturned and plans to stick to her Brexit timetable. She also told French President Francois Hollande and European Council President Donald Tusk that the British government was sticking to its plan to invoke Article 50 by the end of March next year. The foreign minister, Boris Johnson, told his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier not to read too much into the court decision. Bookmakers odds on an election next year were cut after the court decision but 2020 was still the favourite date. Some lawmakers who had backed staying in the bloc were criticised on social media, accused of trying to stop Brexit.
