Former Northern Ireland First Minister Lord Trimble has announced he is launching a judicial review on the grounds that the mechanism negotiated by the PM goes against the peace treaty. Lord Trimble and Brexiteers have been arguing that the insurance policy for the Irish border in the Withdrawal Agreement goes against the historic 30-year-old peace agreement because it risks treating Northern Ireland differently from the rest of the UK. A spokesman for campaign group Global Britain said Lord Trimble was taking the legal action. Angela Merkel said changes to the Withdrawal Agreement were not 'on the agenda'.
