KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 8): Maxis Bhd's fourth quarter net profit rose 8% to RM504 million from a year earlier on higher service revenue. In statements to Bursa Malaysia today, Maxis said service revenue was defined as group revenue excluding device, hubbing and network income. Maxis said group net profit rose to RM504 million in the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2016 from RM468 million. For the full year, Maxis said net profit rose to RM2.01 billion from RM1.74 billion a year earlier. At 12.30pm, Maxis shares rose 3 sen or 0.48% to RM6.28, for a market capitalisation of RM47.17 billion.
