President Sisi said that their talks had been intensive and constructive valuing the historic ties with the fellow African state. The talks equally covered the issue of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), so as President Sisi stressed that the water security of Egypt is an integral part of Arab security. On his side, the Mauritanian president thanked his Egyptian counterpart for the invitation to visit Cairo, and congratulated the Egyptian people on the great achievements accomplished under President Sisi. the Mauritanian chief of state said, describing Egypt as a fortress. President Weld Al Ghazwany highlighted the high status Egypt enjoys in the hearts of Mauritanians, showcasing the prominent role Egypt played and still plays in handling the major issues facing both the Arab and Islamic nations.
