Troubled banking heir Matthew Mellon, 53, died on the same day he was due to check into a nearby drug rehabilitation facility, the center's medical director has revealed. In a tweet posted on Tuesday, April 18th, Dr Alberto Solas from Clear Sky Recovery wrote: 'Matthew Mellon was scheduled to check-in on April 16th. This statement was amended with no explanation on April 18th to say that Mellon died in Cancun 'where he was planning to check into a rehab facility for follow-up treatment'. The facility where he was due to check-in specializes in drug addiction treatment using Ibogain, a psychedelic plant-based drug which is not approved for any medical uses in the United States.
